What information is collected
Two kinds. If you use the contact form: name, organization, email address and/or phone number, and any message included. And basic technical information most websites collect automatically — such as IP address, browser type, date and time — kept briefly for security and troubleshooting, and not used to identify individual visitors.
Why it is collected, and on what basis
Contact-form information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you choose to proceed, to set up and manage that engagement — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform it afterwards (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Technical logs are kept on the basis of a legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and functioning (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Nothing collected here is used for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making, and none of it is sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. It uses one strictly necessary session cookie, which the contact form depends on to work securely — no consent is required for this, as it is essential to the service you're requesting.
Who else sees it
This website is hosted and operated by CogniWise on its own premises — no external hosting provider or third party has access to submitted information. No data is transferred outside the EU/EEA.
How long it is kept
Information from enquiries that do not lead to an engagement is deleted within 12 months. Information tied to an active or completed engagement is kept for as long as needed for that work and any applicable legal or accounting obligations. Technical logs are kept only briefly and then rotated out.
Your rights
Under EU data protection law (GDPR), you have the right to ask to see the information held about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy in a portable format, subject to the usual legal limits. To exercise any of these, use the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman, Finland's supervisory authority for data protection.
Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect submitted information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site or to applicable law. The version published here is always the current one.
